A Letter to Bernards Seniors

Dear Fellow Senior Citizens,
At 75 years of age, I understand, perhaps better than any other candidate, many of the issues and challenges seniors face.
Too often, seniors are forgotten voters. We are counted on at election time, but not always listened to after Election Day. We are taken for granted far too often.
You are not forgotten by me.
My focus on seniors begins with one simple realization: not all seniors face the same challenges. Some are dealing with financial pressure. Some are navigating health concerns. Some are coping with loneliness or the loss of a spouse. Others are worried about staying in the home and community they love as the cost of living continues to rise.
Each senior has his or her own particular circumstances, and local government should be thoughtful enough to recognize that.
As a member of the Bernards Township Committee, I would like to explore practical ways our township can better serve and support our senior community. That may include better communication about available services, stronger coordination with local organizations, attention to public safety, opportunities for connection and community, and a continued focus on keeping Bernards Township affordable for the people who helped build it.
Most importantly, I want to hear from you.

Have affordable uber or ride share services for seniors. It is difficult to afford and also maintain safety for seniors needing to go the the store to shop or dr appts. The bus is not always convenent to take to personal errands or places.
